You are a notary or land surveyor?
According to Belgian law, notaries public must transfer their acts and registers older than 75 years to the State Archives. Documents between 50 and 75 years of age may be given into custody to the State Archives.
In principle, the State Archives repository that takes custody is the one located in the Province or administrative district that coincides with the district of the notary (article 37 of the law of 4 May 1999).
Acts older than 100 years are public; in order to consult acts that are not yet 100 years old, a written authorisation by the notary is required.
