Since 1 June 2018, access to the 20 reading rooms of the State Archives is free! This new measure has been put in place to ensure access to our archives for all citizens. Our online archives, among which the civil status and church registers older than 100 years, can still be accessed for free as well.
Beside this free service to the public, the State Archives charges fees for a number of services and products:
- Reproduction of archives,
- Administrative fees and research fees,
- User fee,
- Care and preservation of archives,
- Letting of spaces,
- Guided tours,
- other services.
The tariffs for the services of the State Archives were signed on 25 May 2018 by the Secretary of State for Science Policy and published in the Belgian Official Journal on 5 June 2018. They will be indexed on 1 March 2024 in order to better take into account real costs.
