Since 1 June 2018, access to the 19 reading rooms of the State Archives is free! This new measure has been put in place to ensure access to our archives for all citizens. Our online archives, among which the civil status and church registers older than 100 years, can still be accessed for free as well.
Beside this free service to the public, the State Archives charges fees for a number of services and products:

  • Reproduction of archives,
  • Administrative fees and research fees,
  • User fee,
  • Care and preservation of archives,
  • Letting of spaces,
  • Guided tours,
  • other services.

The new applicable fees of the State Archives were signed by the Secretary of State for Science Policy on 25 May 2018 and is to be published in the Belgian Official Journal in the coming months. The fees had not been reviewed or indexed since 2011. It was thus indispensable to update these fees in order to align them with the actual costs of services. e-Procurement
