Rolande Depoortere
Biography
Archivist in the Belgian National Archives since April 1994. Head of the service Digital Archiving since February 2019. Former head of the service Digital Preservation and Access (02/2014-01/2019), of the service Archives Supervision (10/2006-01/2014), of the National Archives service in the Brussels Region (08/2001-09/2006). She was member of the Committee on Legal Matters in the International Council on Archives (2000-2004), of the Private Archives centers Steering Committee of the French Community (2010-2015). She has coordinated several research projects including one on the history of the institutions in the Brussels Region, one on the history of administrative jurisdictions in Belgium 1830-2008, and was promotor for the State Archives of a research project on the user needs and expectations about the search functionalities to access archives collections (2015-2017). At the moment, she coordinates the project SODA which organizes the Belgian service provider for the European ERIC CESSDA (Consortium of European Social Sciences Data Archives).
